The Northern Netherlands Symphony Orchestra (NNO) is renowned as the country's most versatile orchestra, performing over 130 concerts annually. Their repertoire spans anything from classical masterpieces to film and game music, played anywhere from concert halls to open-air festivals.
Classical music is often associated with dark, muted tones—instrument browns, coppers, and the ubiquitous black and white. While honoring their loyal fan base, NNO also aims to captivate a new, younger generation of music enthusiasts.
To tackle this challenge we richly infused the identity: adding color (lots!) and adding a typographic layer that optically mimics harmonies like notes on a stave. Paying homage to the dynamic nature of classical music, appealing to new audiences and standing out from the orchestra crowd.
